  • absolute URL --noun: The complete address of an internet webpage.

  • attributes --noun: that part of an HTML code that gives special instructions to the web browser.For example: The height attribute in the IMG SRC tag tells the browser the height of animage on a web page.

  • authoring --verb: to author--to write and publish a web page on the internet

  • download --verb: to copy and save something from a server or web page to your own computer.

  • exhaustive resource --noun: complete resource, all the information available on a particularsubject.

  • external link--noun: a link to a web page outside your web site.

  • FTP--noun: File Transfer protocol: a protocal for the transfer of files from one computer to another computer. Thesoftware used to accomplish transfers from one computer to another computer. verb the act of transfering files from one computer to another computer.

  • generate --verb: to make or create; to produce or cause to be produced through some action.

  • GIF --noun: Graphic Image Format, a type of graphic that is used on web pages. Created byCompuserve Industries, a GIF uses a blend of a maximum of 256 colors.

  • hexdecimal code --noun: a code that consists of letters, numbers, or a combination of letters and numbers. Each code consists of 6 digits and creates the color effects for web page background colors.

  • HTML--noun: Hyper Text Mark-up Language: a simple programming language used to create web pages

  • hyperlink--noun: that part of a web page that when clicked on will open a new web page. Hyper Links can be either textual or graphical.

  • relative URL--noun: a short web address that is used to connect web pages within the same site.

  • tag--noun: that part of the code that designates the structural element of the web page.

  • pixels--noun: the smallest discrete element of an image or picture. he greater the number of pixels per inch the better the picture.

  • up-load--verb: to transfer or move files from your computer to another computer connected to the internet. Most commonly this refers to the act of moving files from your computer to the server whereyour web site is located.
